Letterkenny-based solicitor and sports agent David McGinley (McGinley Solicitors) is kicking off 2025 with a strong start, having secured the signatures of two of boxing’s most highly sought-after rising stars, Gabriel Dossen and Callum Bradley.
Building on a strong launch in 2024, David recently confirmed that both Galway native, Dossen, and Bradley from Omagh, Co. Tyrone have penned multi-year promotional deals with ProBox TV, a prominent American boxing promotion company.
Both Bradley and Dossen will split their careers on both sides of the Atlantic under the dual guidance of McGinley and former world champion Anthony Crolla, who David partnered with to co-manage the pair.
ProBox TV’s platform in the United States is expected to help the two promising fighters tap into the extensive Irish-American market while also honing their experience within the pro ranks.
Commenting on the latest signings, David said: “It’s an exciting proposition for the lads, and this will offer them a great platform to progress from prospect into world title contention in the coming years. The ability to partner with a USA-based promoter to gradually break into that Irish-American audience in the USA was a major factor, and a significant part of the overall plan.”
Since unveiling the sports management brand ‘David McGinley Sport’ at the start of 2024, McGinley has secured an impressive roster of high-profile clients, both in Ireland and the UK.
David McGinley Sport partnered with renowned Boxing Management company 258 Management Ltd to secure Eoghan Lavin with Hall of Fame Boxing Promoter Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions and TNT Sports
Early last year, David announced a partnership with 258 Management, a sports management group owned by world champion Anthony Joshua. They joined forces to co-manage highly touted Mayo native Eoghan Lavin.
Together, they went on to land Lavin a multi-year promotional contract with Hall of Fame boxing promoter Frank Warren—a major coup for the up-and-coming Mayo fighter.
McGinley’s success continued to the end of the year, securing the signing of Team GB standout Reese Lynch. Having claimed medals at both the World and Commonwealth Championships representing Great Britain, Lynch was pursued by some of the biggest names in boxing, so it was a major coup for the Milford native to win the race and secure his signature.
Reflecting on the past year, McGinley said: “It’s been an exciting year since I officially launched the brand. I am delighted with how it’s going and after a lot of hard work and travel in the previous months, it feels like it’s building momentum.
“It’s something I had been working on behind the scenes for several years, so seeing it all come together has been incredibly rewarding. It’s a competitive space, so once I started to gain some traction I had to throw myself at every possible opportunity.
“I’m privileged to have so many talented athletes put their faith in me, and now the focus is on delivering for them—both in sporting opportunities and also securing the best commercial opportunities possible.
“The plan in 2025 is to keep building on the initial foundation and then possibly explore expansion opportunities in Football and MMA at the end of the year, let’s see ….”
