The Donegal Town Methodist Church Hall will be open this evening (Monday) for people who are without electricity or water following Storm Éowyn.
The recharge hub will open from 7pm – 9pm to provide a warm and welcoming space for people to recharge their devices, enjoy a hot meal and dessert, get hot water for home use, and unwind with board games, conversation, or simply a relaxing cuppa in a friendly atmosphere.
Volunteers are also sought to set up, prepare food, wash dishes, or serve from 6:30 to 9:15 PM on Monday. Local restaurants are invited to donate food if possible.
Special thanks are extended to Donegal Methodist Church for generously providing the hall, electricity, and heating. Gratitude is also expressed to Rev John Montgomery for his tireless efforts in making this event possible. The organisers would like to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of all the volunteers who have assisted thus far, as well as the generous support from the local food establishments that have already contributed.
“No matter where you are from, you are very welcome to join us! We would love to have you along,” they said.

“People are welcome to use this template to set up their own community recharge hub in their area, it is relatively easy to do, you just need a warm venue, a few donations and some helping hands,” adds Sara.
