The young man who was killed in a crash near Raphoe yesterday morning has been named.
20-year-old Kacper Dudek died when a tree fell on his car while he was travelling on the N14 at Feddyglass.
Kacper, a Polish native, was raised in Lifford.
It’s understood that he was travelling home from work when the accident occurred early yesterday morning, hours before a status red wind warning was to come into effect for Storm Eowyn.
His body has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place in due course.
A technical examination of the scene will take place today, and the N14 will remain closed with local diversions in place.
Gardaí have confirmed that a Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to provided support to the family of Mr Dudek.
Their investigations into the tragic accident are ongoing.
