Letterkenny man John Kennedy has joined a prestigious list of people to be awarded the Freedom of the City of London.
The Rahan native, who works as a Partnerships Manager with Equals Money PLC, celebrated the honour in November.
The honour was bestowed during a special Freedom ceremony held at the Guildhall’s Chamberlain’s Court.
John was joined by his proud parents, Cyril and Doreen Kennedy, along with family, friends, and colleagues.
John has been living and working in London for the past nine years, where he has forged strong connections with the wider Irish business community.
His father, Cyril, also spent a significant portion of his life working in London.
Looking back on the occasion, John said he was “truly honoured”.
“It was a great day celebrating with close friends and family, with a special thanks to David O’Reilly and former Lord Mayor Vincent Keaveny CBE for their nominations.”
Other Donegal recipients of the Freedom of the City of London include Frosses businessman Tim Kelly, Islington Councillor Troy Gallagher, and playwright and theatre director Rosalind Scanlon.
