Finn Harps had some of their bright young stars to thank following an impressive 2-0 friendly win over Dergview.
The Ballybofey boys continued their preparations for the upcoming First Division campaign with a trip to their Castlederg neighbours last night.
Harps’ young goalkeeper Corey Sheridan made a great impression in keeping a clean sheet, including a penalty save in the first half.
Meanwhile Harps struck through goals from two other young stars who recently arrived at Finn Park, with Gavin Gilmore and Gavin Hodgins getting on the scoresheet.
Gilmore made six appearances last season after arriving on a free transfer from Athenry, and 19-year-old Hodgins arrived in December as a graduate of LOI Premier Division Champions Shelbourne’s academy.
Finn Harps will play Sligo Rovers in a North West Derby friendly on Saturday the 8th of February, before their First Division season kicks off with a long away trip to Kerry FC on Friday the 14th.
