It’s understood that a major water outage in Inishowen will leave some homes without water potentially until Monday.

Local Councillor Terry Crossan issued the warning for residents in the Aught area, which is near Quigley’s Point.

While many residents there woke up without water this morning, Uisce Eireann have advised the Councillor that due to a number of serious water bursts and outages across the county, crews will only be able to work on the Aught outage from Sunday at the earliest.

“Due to a number of other serious bursts it will be tomorrow or even Monday before it is addressed,” Cllr Crossan posted on social media.

One such burst affected residents in Carndonagh and the surrounding areas, with many homes there also without water for some time this morning and this afternoon.

According to Uisce Eireann, repairs in Carndonagh were scheduled to be completed by 3pm.
