A man has appeared in court charged with assaulting another man at a hostel in Falcarragh.
Artem Hyria is accused of assaulting Oleksandr Tiunov at the 3 Waves of Tory Hostel on the town’s Main Street on February 10th, 2024.
The charge is Contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.
Speaking at Falcarragh District Court, Judge Eiteain Cunningham asked the nature of the injuries.
Garda Inspector Seamus McGonigle replied that the injuries had been superficial.
He said the victim had allegedly been struck with a fist and had also been bitten on the chest.
Inspector McGonigle said the Director of Public Prosecution had indicated summary disposal of the case.
Hyria, aged 38, has an address at the 3 Waves of Tory in Falcarragh.
Judge Cunningham adjourned the case until the February sitting of Falcarragh District Court for jurisdiction.
