Letterkenny University Hospital took in €132,882 from parking fees in 2023, it has been revealed.
The pay and display system, operated by Euro Carparks, spans across 1,100 car parking spaces on the hospital campus.
Last year it was revealed that more than 180,000 patients and visitors attend the hospital annually, while 2,500 staff members hold parking permits.
Irish Country Living, through FOI requests, unveiled a total income of almost €16million across 37 hospital car parks nationwide.
The HSE has stated that monies earned from parking charges are used in hospital budgets for services and the upkeep of facilities.
