A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman in Co Cavan last weekend.
The victim, Annie Heyneman, was found dead at her home in Kilnavart near Ballyconnell.
The 55-year-old mother-of-five suffered a violent death.
A man in his 60s, believed to be her husband, was also injured and is being treated in hospital. His condition is said to be serious but stable.
A man in his 30s was arrested by gardaí at a separate location in the county and questioned in relation to the incident.
He has now been charged and is due to appear before Monaghan District Court at 10am this morning.
