Man steals oven after it fell out of car boot in Letterkenny

Gardaí in Letterkenny are investigating an unusual theft of an oven that fell out of a car boot in the town last month.

The incident occurred at around midday on Monday, December 9, in the Carnamuggagh Upper area. 

A man was transporting an oven in his car and he didn’t realise that the boot door was open, Garda Grainne Doherty explained.

“The oven fell out onto the road. A short time later a man came along in a small white van and he lifted the oven into the van before driving away,” she said.

The man in question was described as being in his 50’s and well dressed. He then left in the direction of Letterkenny town. 

Gardaí are appealing to road users who may have been in the area of Carnamuggagh

Upper on that date with a dash cam between the hours of midday and 1pm to make contact with Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100. The Garda Confidential Line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
