The long awaited opening of the new Dunfanaghy Health Centre will take place this Thursday.
Deputy Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher has been informed the facility will be fully operational from 2.30pm. The centre is undergoing final preparations, including the setup of IT systems.
“It will be a welcome addition to the facilities available for the immediate area and will greatly improve health access for all,” Deputy Gallagher said.
The TD, who campaigned for the new facility over the years, acknowledged the dedication and hard work of local Councillor, Michael McClafferty, in progressing this project. The Local GPs, Dr Paul and Dr Rory Stewart, he added, are to be complimented for their commitment to and support of this state of the art facility.
“Their patience has to be commended.”
Since the closure of the previous health centre, all surgeries for Dunfanaghy patients have been conducted in Creeslough.
The HSE has provided a new dedicated phone number for the Dunfanaghy Primary Care Centre: 074 9898440. This number will be active once the centre officially opens.
