Congratulations to Brian McBride (main pic) who was first over-70 in the Lough 5 mile road race held on New Year’s Eve.
The annual event, staged by the local GAA Club in Loughmacrory outside Omagh, attracted 795 finishers.
Letterkenny A.C.’s only other representative was Ciaran O’Donnell, who ran 35:25, placing him fifth in the over-55 category.
In the Glaslough Harriers 10km Danny Mooney finished in an excellent time of 31:41 while Philip McHugh crossed the line in 37:11.
In the Milford Handicap 3km 2024 Sinead George was the first club female to cross the line in 11:55 while Michael Harkin was the first male in a time of 10:23.

In the Finn Valley 5km Martin Gormley was the first LAC runner to complete the race in 20:18 while Frank Pinder ran 24:03, Noelle Lynch 31:27, Noreen Pinder 34:01 and Ciaran Bannon ran 56:45.
LAC will host The Black & Amber 4 Mile event on Sunday the 23rd February 2025 and the club would like to invite all levels of runners and walkers to join us in celebrating the memory of the late Aidan McGlynn who passed away in 2024.
The course will be flat, fast and chip timed.
LAC hosts running sessions from the Aura Leisure Centre on a Tuesday at 5.15pm and 6.30pm for interval running sessions, a Thursday evening hill run at 6pm, Saturday mornings at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday mornings at 8am for a long run.
Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 6pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.
