Lifford Credit Union has issued a fraud warning to its members.
The organisation said it is aware of an organised Irish criminal gang is targeting credit union members.
The gang try to defraud credit union members by calling them and requesting debit card details, personal security information, and one-time codes.
They then use this information to set up Apple Pay or Google Pay and make fraudulent transactions.
A spokesperson for Lifford Credit Union warned members “Never share your financial details, passwords, one-time codes, or personal information with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
“Stay vigilant and protect your financial security. If you suspect suspicious activity, contact us immediately.”
