Tara (London) 1-08 v 4-10 Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin
Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin are comfortably through to the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship Semi-Final, after a dominant win over Tara in London this afternoon.
This game was slated for December initially before an enforced postponement due to Storm Darragh causing a waterlogged pitch at McGovern Park in Ruislip on that day.
Today’s rescheduled fixture was also delayed by the weather, with throw-in pushed back by an hour to 1pm to allow conditions to improve on a cold and icy day for football in the English capital.
Naomh Padraig found the back of the net just minutes from the half-time break to find a bit of breathing space over Tara, leading 1-07 to 0-05 at the break.
In the second half the Donegal men established themselves with two quick-fire goals inside the first ten minutes of the second half, as Drew McKinney and Caolan Colgan struck the back of the net – making it a far more comfortable margin of 3-08 to 0-06.
The scoring rout wasn’t over however, with Ronan Hoy scoring the Muff side’s fourth goal of the afternoon midway through the second half to cap off a comfortable victory in this Twinning Final.
Naomh Padraig will now look forward to their Junior Championship Semi-Final against Cork & Munster champions Cill Mhuire at Parnell Park next Sunday, the 12th of January.
