The Ulster title-winning Four Masters squad wore special pink wristbands yesterday to honour the mother of one of their players who passed away last month.
Mary McGovern, from Drumrooske Estate, Donegal Town, died in Letterkenny University Hospital during the earlier rounds of the fonacab Ulster Minor Club Tournament.
Yesterday, Four Masters showed their metal as they retained their Ulster title against Magherafelt in Belfast.
But, it was an extra emotional day for Mary’s son, Terence.
Winning captain Callum McCrea, who made history in becoming the first man to lift the Jimmy McConville Cup twice, brought Terence onto the presentation stage with him to lift the cup.
Well done to the Four Masters team, and management, for their thoughtful gesture.
