Eight Collie puppies are living their best lives this Christmas after their litter was rescued from shocking circumstances in Tipperary.
In June 2023, a woman was out walking in a forest when she heard the faintest whimpers coming from a heavy-duty cement bag.
She found several new-born puppies inside the bag. Sadly, five had passed away.
The woman emptied her rucksack, gently placing the surviving pups inside. She then made an urgent call to the ISPCA National Animal Cruelty Helpline on 0818 515 515.
Fast forward to Christmas 2024, and the ISPCA is delighted to announce that the surviving pups are all happily living with adopted families.
Their survival was a miracle, which could not have happened without that kind-hearted woman who found them and the wonderful team at City Vets in Waterford – all eight pups made it through the first critical 48 hours.
They thrived in pairs under the loving care of ISPCA Donegal, KWWSPCA, Carlow SPCA, ISPCA Inspectors and kind foster homes.
In a heart-warming thank you message, the ISPCA said: “It’s heart-warming when we receive updates from our adopters to see how the animals we rescue are thriving with their new families, living their best lives, so loved and cared for. Thank you!
“When you support to the ISPCA you are enabling our Animal Welfare Inspectors to continue rescuing the animals in need and helping to keep our Rescue Centres open 365 days of the year.
“If you can, please continue to support our work and be a miracle for animals in need https://ispca.ie/donations/“
