Gardai in Co Donegal last night arrested a banned driver who was using a fake driver’s license to get behind the wheel.
Gardai were on patrol in the Donegal Town area when they spotted the disqualified driver.
Officers pulled in the driver and asked the driver for their driving license.
The accused motorist then produced a license which they suspect is fraudulent.
Upon further inspection, one of the vehicle’s front tyres was “dangerously work.”
According to a Garda spokesperson, the car was then seized when other officers arrived on the scene.
A spokesperson said that a court appearance will now follow.
“Never take risks on the roads. If you decide to drive with no insurance then you will be taking a massive risk.
“If you decide to falsify documents then be assured that you will be found out,” added the spokesperson.
