A Donegal man will go on trial next year on 18 charges of alleged indecent assault.
The man, who is aged in his 60s and cannot be named for legal reasons to protect the identity of the alleged victims in the case, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The accused man, who is in custody, appeared via video link as a book of evidence was served on his solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher.
Garda Pauline Doherty gave evidence of serving the book on the solicitor.
Sergeant Maurice Doyle informed the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has consented to the accused being sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court in 2025.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham noted the DPP directions and made an order returning the man for trial. The alibi warning was given.
Two legal counsel were assigned in the case.
