The late Jasmine McMonagle will honoured this New Year with a memorial walk in Castlefinn.
The candlelight walk on Saturday 4th January 2025 will mark the fifth anniversary of Jasmine’s murder, when her life was cut short by her former partner Richard Burke.
Jasmine, a beloved mother of two from Killygordon, always loved Christmas time and making it special for her children.
In her honour, Jasmine’s family are inviting people to gather at the Diamond Castlefinn at 3pm and bring torches or candles to shine “in memory of our beautiful girl”.
Organisers of the ‘Smile for Jasmine’ page said: “We plan to start the walk at the Diamond Castlefinn and finish at the Jasmine Memorial Tree, here we will share some words in memory of Jasmine. The tree is on the grounds of the CPI Centre, Castlefinn.
“Due to the weather at this time of the year, we decided to keep the walk short so that all ages can be involved.”
They added: “Those who knew Jasmine will know how much she loved this time of year, preparing for Christmas.
“We know how much everyone was affected by the loss of Jasmine and we will always be grateful for your kind words and support.”
