Woman behind litany of Letterkenny burglaries told to stay away from friends

A Letterkenny woman charged with a litany of offences, including several burglaries, has been ordered by a court not to associate with two friends.

Amanda Coleman, who faces charges in respect of numerous incidents around Letterkenny, was granted bail subject to several conditions including that she abide by a curfew.

The 39-year-old, with an address at Fairgreen Hill, Letterkenny. Appeared before Judge Éiteáin Cunningham at Letterkenny District Court.

Evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Coleman was given to the court by way of schedule by Sergeant Maurice Doyle.

Coleman was charged with the theft of €21 worth of clothes from the St Vincent de Paul charity shop in Letterkenny on December 10, 2024.

She was also charged with stealing items valued at €208 from Homesavers on August 23, 2024 and €60 worth of household products and groceries from the same shop on August 29, 2024.

Coleman also faces seven burglary charges in relation to businesses around Letterkenny in August and September this year.

Coleman is charged with having entered Zen Hair and Beauty as a trespasser that she committed an arrestable offence, namely criminal damage, therein on September 20, 2024.

She faces similar charges in relation to the same date at Mr Chippie, Ace Barbers, Uviolki, Future Style Barbers and Hue Hair Salon and at Dream Brows on August 30, 2024.

Coleman has also been charged with causing criminal damage to the glass of the front door, valued at €700, at Bronze Age Tanning Salon on September 20, 2024.

Mr Patsy Gallagher, solicitor for Coleman, said his client was seeking bail in her own bond until January 13, 2025, when co-accused in the matter are also due before the court.

Judge Cunningham remanded Coleman on continuing bail in her own bond on condition that she: reside at her home address; maintain a curfew from 11pm-8am; be available to be contacted by Gardai on telephone 24-7; remain sober and abstain from all unprescribed drugs; sign on at a Garda Station twice a week; commit no further offence and be of good behaviour; not contact any witnesses in the matters; and not associate with two specified individuals.

The case was adjourned until January 13 for directions.
