Several thousand households are without power in West Donegal this morning, after a night of harsh winds and wintry conditions.
A status yellow high wind warning remains in place for County Donegal and several other counties until 2pm this afternoon.
However the strong and gusty winds have already made their impact felt in the west of the county.
Over 2,500 homes and businesses were without power in the Derrybeg and Gweedore areas according to the ESB, with power only returning in the last few minutes.
There are still 872 homes in Annagry, Loughanure and Meenaclady that remain without power currently, with fixes not expected until between 10:30am and 11am, according to the ESB’s PowerCheck site.
