Gardaí in Donegal arrested a drunk driver in the Killea area yesterday, after they were also caught almost 30 kph over the speed limit.
Gardaí from the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were operating a speed checkpoint in the area, when they caught the driver doing 109kph in an 80kph zone.
After being pulled over, the driver then failed a subsequent roadside breath test.
They were arrested on suspicion of drink driving, with Gardaí saying a court appearance will follow after the incident.
Gardaí have again issued a reminder to all motorists to never risk lives of others on the roads by driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or by speeding.
