A local councillor has hailed the quick work undertaken to repair the Owencarrow Bridge.
The bridge, which forms part of the N56 between Letterkenny and Creeslough, was damaged recently after a section of its wall collapsed.
A wall of plastic cones and barriers was erected in front of the collapsed section, but serious safety concerns were raised.
Two weeks after its collapse though, emergency repairs have now been completed despite initial concerns regarding funding availability for such repairs.
Local Councillor Michael McClafferty has thanked the Council and the workers who completed the swift fix.
“I’m really glad to see the Owencarrow Bridge wall fixed again after the log cabin, on the N56. Thanks very much to Donegal County Council for their help alongside the bridge team in this matter to secure a conclusion,” Cllr McClafferty said.
“And to the builders – fair play, it’s perfect once again.”
