A very windy weekend is on the way for Donegal as the pre-Christmas rush begins.
Met Eireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal throughout Saturday and Sunday due to sustained strong and gusty winds and large coastal waves.
There is a risk of difficult travelling conditions and some disruption for those travelling from elsewhere taking railways and ferry services, particularly if travelling through Northern Ireland where there are further alerts.
People near the coasts are also being urged to stay back and take care.
The warning for Donegal is due to come into effect early on Saturday morning at 3am, and runs until Sunday 22 December at 2pm.
The weather system has not yet been officially named.
