BASICC is a social enterprise based in Ballybofey-Stranorlar in County Donegal.

Our mission is to encourage, drive and foster innovation so that the area is a great place to live, work, visit and do business.
Our work focuses on three main areas: Enterprise Development, Community Projects and Tourism Promotion.
We do this by establishing strong networks and fostering partnerships to develop and support sustainable business and community initiatives. Our work to date includes the development and operation of the BASE Enterprise Centre and Coworking Hub; partnering with Donegal County Council in the development of a Regeneration Strategy for the Twin Towns; the development and implementation of a number of community regeneration infrastructure projects, and developing local events in partnership with other groups. BASICC is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors.
We now require a MANAGER.
The successful candidate will be located at The Base Enterprise Centre, Stranorlar, Co Donegal.
They will be responsible to the Board of Directors.
The salary is €45,000 per annum on a fixed term of three years on a 37 hour per week contract.
The Role:
As the manager you will drive the strategy and work plan of BASICC.
This includes:
● Developing and supporting business networks in the Finn Valley area;
● Developing and implementing town regeneration programmes, community events
and tourism/visitor offerings.
● Day-to-day operational responsibility for the management of The BASE, its start-up
community, including marketing, facilities and team management;
● Identifying, researching, applying for and securing funding opportunities in support
of business and community development, regeneration plans, priorities and
objectives.
● Fostering and building local, regional and national partnerships
Key responsibilities include:
● Work with the Board of Directors and community/ business partners to identify, scope and implement projects across all programme areas
● Foster and maintain sustainable partnerships
● Managing all aspects of the organisation’s finances, including the income and
expenditure of The BASE
● Managing and monitoring all aspects of the health, safety and welfare of facility users,
event volunteers, staff and visitors
● Promote BASICC as a leading social enterprise in the North West
● Responsibility for PR and Marketing of all programmes via all platforms. ○ Report regularly to and update the Board.
● General team and personnel management.
Enterprise Projects
● Manage and develop The BASE as a driver for enterprise and entrepreneurship in the
Finn Valley and the wider hinterland.
● Support the work of the Ballybofey and Stranorlar Chamber of Commerce and foster relationships.
● Seek collaborative opportunities with business focussed partners.
Community Projects
● Develop organise and manage a series of annual community activities and events
including peak seasonal festivities (eg Spring/Easter, Summer, Halloween &Christmas events) in collaboration with Chamber of Commerce and /or other local community groups.
● Provide advice and support to other community organisations, including support for funding applications
● Identify develop and foster local partnerships and collaboration opportunities to strengthen the Ballybofey-Stranorlar community
Tourism
● Develop and promote the “Visit Ballybofey Stranorlar” brand
● Work with tourism partners such as Donegal Tourism and Donegal East Tourism to
deliver tourism projects and promote our area to visitors
Person Specification
You will bring tenacity, flair and an entrepreneurial spirit to the work. You will need to be experienced and comfortable approaching and fostering relationships with stakeholders from the business, community and statutory sector, and have strong financial and interpersonal skills.
Essential Criteria
Experience and Knowledge
● 4 years’ experience of managing a business and/ or large-scale community activity with responsibility for programme delivery, work planning, and financial management
● Relationship and community building – the ability to connect and make everyone feel included and valued. A respect and preference for partnerships and collaborative approaches.
● A strong understanding of the rural SME business environment. An understanding of the needs of start-ups and entrepreneurs.
● Experience of marketing and PR.
● Experience of funding application process.
● Tech savvy with strong IT, social media and online skills
● Experience of supervising, managing and supporting a team of staff working to
different rotas and within different roles
Skills and Competencies

● Knowledge of the business support environment for small enterprises and start-ups.
● An interest and or knowledge of digital innovation, remote working trends and new
ways of working.
● Experience of capital re-development of facilities
● Experience of best practice in urban regeneration, community and local
