Donegal people from around the globe are returning home for Christmas with today being the busiest day in the run up to Christmas at Dublin Airport.
Up to 93,000 passengers are due to travel through the terminals in Dublin.
In total, the country’s biggest airport will welcome 1.4 million passengers this Christmas but numbers travelling through Dublin airport are down due to the passenger cap.
Despite the fewer festive travellers, families are gathering to welcome home loved ones from abroad.
The airport operator Dublin Airport Authority is laying on a festive entertainment programme to accommodate travellers.
Tens of thousands of others will arrive through ferry ports and at airports in Belfast and Knock to make the shorter trips back to towns and villages around Donegal.
