Castlefin nutritionist Sorcha McElchar has added another impressive achievement to her name, graduating from University College Dublin (UCD) with a Masters Degree in Public Health Nutrition.
Sorcha also holds a degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Atlantic Technological University.
Sorcha’s path to UCD was not without its battles. Living with chronic illness, she had to personally campaign for access to an overnight carer to enable her to live away from home and study in Dublin.
Sorcha’s own experience with illness gave her a special interest in nutrition and dietetics.
The ambitious academic has also written a nutrition column for Donegal Daily, called Sorcha’s Healthy Living, which was published alongside her website sorchashealthyliving.com.
Sorcha offers one-to-one nutrition consultation, dietary analysis, and personalised meal plans.
Her qualifications now allow her to incorporate microbiome testing into her client services, enabling her to create personalised nutrition plans based on individual results.
Sorcha’s parents, William and Jacqueline, along with her sisters Naomi and Carina, are bursting with pride at her success story, as are her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
