Katie-George Dunlevy and Linda Kelly have won the award for RTÉ Sport Team of the Year.
The para cycling duo scooped the prize last night for their achievements in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and the Para-Cycling World Championship in Zurich.
Dunlevy and Kelly won a superb Paralympic Gold in the Women’s Time Trial B road race. Dunlevy secured two Silver medals in Games in the Individual Pursuit B (with pilot Eve McCrystal) and Road Race B (with pilot Linda Kelly).
Weeks later, Dunlevy and Kelly continued their winning streak at the World Championships in Zurich, where they clinched two more gold medals in the Time Trial B and Road Race B events.
Dunlevy, a former rower competing for Great Britain, was born in Crawley and her father John is from a well known Mountcharles family.
On accepting the RTE Sport award, Dunlevy said: “For a para-athlete to win an accolade like this is huge. I represent so much, I’m representing adults at home to believe in themselves and you can achieve.”
Dunlevy was also nominated as RTÉ Sport Sportsperson of the Year, which was won by Paul O’Donovan.
