The local community in Carndonagh once again gathered for the annual Christmas Carols in the Park event last week.
The event is hosted by the Barrack Hill Town Park Steering Committee, who have helped deliver festive cheer to locals in the town for three years in a row.
This year the event was enhanced further as they were able to make use of “The Daisy” for the first time – a new structure in the park that allows for large community events.
There were plenty of bright lights and decorations adorning the park, with performances from local talent including Carn’s famous Brass Band, Siobhán Sheil’s musical group, the Barrack Hill Boppers, and Trad in the Head.
Mrs Claus and her elves were also on hand to entertain the children in the beautifully decorated stage area.
The large metal Christmas tree, crafted by LCAs from Carndonagh Community School under the guidance of Mark Devlin and donated by the LCA students and their coordinator Breda Doherty, was a highlight of the event. Stars created by the CCS TY students added another touch of festive charm.
“It was an evening to remember and I hope the whole community will enjoy this valuable resource” added Carmel Doherty, Chairperson of Barrack Hill Town Park, who also thanked the widespread collaboration from the community and local businesses to make the event so magical.
