Running was light at the weekend with a few athletes taking in the Dungloe Parkrun with the annual senior presentation night taking precedence after a hectic year.
A great evening was had at McCafferty’s in Leitir and a big thanks to them for great food and entertainment.
The following were the award winners: Road Running Male – Mark Ward, Female – Bernie Boyle, Masters male- Charlie O Donnell, Masters Female – Martina Mulhern. Cross Country – Male – Michael Logue, Female – Keeva Gallagher, Masters Male – Patrick Trimble, Masters Female – Fionnuala Diver.
Adventure Racing – Male – Declan Ferry, David McKelvey, Female – Maria Ni Mhaolagain, Master Male – Declan Gallagher, Masters Female- Cathy Breslin. Track and Field – Male – Aidan Gillespie, Female – Helen McCready, Masters Male – Kevin Duffy, Masters Female – Claire O Donnell. Coach of the year – Karen Devenney ( Juveniles). Coach of the year – Charlie O Donnell (seniors). Club Person of the year – Lorraine Doherty. Male Athlete of the year – Declan Ferry. Female Athlete of the year – Helen McCready.
Well done to local athlete Amy Greene who represented Ireland at the weekend in the u23 race at European Cross Country Championships last weekend in Turkey. She was accompanied by family members and also her coach Helen McCready. A great achievement and well done on your performance at this level.
Save the date for the Darren Mills Memorial Run/Walk 2025 over a 6k run/walk taking in a return route to Darren’s Memorial monument in Cruit Island. There will be a shorter option to Cruit bridge and back for younger/older participants. Proceeds this year go to the upkeep of St Mary’s Hall Kincasslagh.
