The annual Letterkenny Christmas Carol Trail is set to return again this year.
Now in its eleventh year, the festive tradition will bring together all communities in the town ahead at this special time of year.
This year’s trail will take place on Friday the 20th of December, and is being organised by the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, the Letterkenny Cathedral Quarter, Letterkenny CDP and the churches participating in the carol trail.
All are welcome to join the carol trail, which organisers say will offer an opportunity to reflect on the true message of Christmas – goodwill to all.
Things will get underway at 7:30pm with carols and readings at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Main Street. Participants will then proceed in a candlelit procession up Church Lane, stopping at the Gospel Hall.
The procession will then way to the former Methodist Church at the top of the Market Square and taking in St Eunan’s Cathedral, before culminating at Conwal Parish Church, Letterkenny’s oldest building, for additional carols and readings.
The event will conclude with a special rendition of “O Holy Night” by singer Jean Curran, followed by tea and mince pies in the Conwal Parish Church Centre.
