A number of events have been cancelled around Donegal this evening and tomorrow after an extreme Status Red Wind Alert was issued for the county.
We have been notified of the following cancellations and postponements due to Storm Darragh:
Bus Éireann said a large number of services across Expressway intercity, commuter and city services, scheduled to operate between 9pm tonight and 3am have been cancelled. Passengers should check the ‘Service Updates’section of their website before travelling.
The Letterkenny University Hospital Sports & Social Club Christmas Dinner Dance, due to be held in The Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, has to be cancelled. A new date will be confirmed later.
Tonight’s North West Breast Cancer Charity Ball has been cancelled due to Storm Darragh.
The sold-out event, due to take place in the Silver Tassie, will no longer go ahead in the interest of safety. The committee has asked all those with tickets to follow the social media pages for further updates.

Due to the adverse weather forecast for tomorrow, Saturday, the Makers Market scheduled for the Pier Sheds in Rathmullan has been postponed for health & Safety reasons. This will now take place on Sunday afternoon instead from 12-4pm.
The switching on of the Convoy Christmas lights has also been cancelled due to the pending arrival of Storm Darragh and will be rescheduled.
