A new Arranmore Historical Society has been launched to celebrate, preserve and pass on the history of Donegal’s most populated island.
The society is now recruiting members so they can fund and start on a number of important projects to document the rich history of the island and pass it on to future generations.
Their goals include:
- Documenting History: Capturing oral histories, curating photographs, and creating archives.
- Preservation Initiatives: Ensuring our historical sites and artifacts remain for all to see.
- Educational Outreach: Sharing Arranmore’s legacy through events, resources, and storytelling.
“Stay tuned for updates on how to get involved,” a spokesperson for the society said.
“We’ll be sharing plans for our first projects soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to know more or have ideas to share, feel free to drop us a message.”
If you would like to join the society, make suggestions on priority projects or volunteer some time, please get in touch via their website: www.stairarainnmhor.org or their Facebook page
