Olympic medallist Mona McSharry will be ringing in the New Year in style on the Late Late Show New Year’s Eve Special.
The swimmer has been confirmed on the line-up of a star-studded show, alongside fellow Olympian Charlene Maudsley and Paralympian Orla Comerford.
Grange native Mona made history on 29th July at the Olympic Games in Paris with a sensational Bronze medal win in the 100m breaststroke. It was the first of 10 medal haul and the country’s best-ever performance at an Olympic Games.
Mona is the pride of Ballyshannon too, having trained with the Marlins Swimming Club in Ballyshannon. She is a past pupil of Coláiste Cholmcille Ballyshannon.
This New Year’s Eve, Late Late Show host Patrick Kielty will be celebrating the year that’s gone by Irish sporting heroes and music from the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, The Undertones and Picture This.
Patrick will be marking musical anniversaries with James Blunt and throwing it forward to 2025 with rising stars Clinton Liberty, Alisha Weir and Justine Stafford to name a few.
