Religious book publisher and retailer Veritas will close its doors in Letterkenny for the final time on Friday 13th December.
The store is winding down as part of the closure of all Veritas branches nationwide.
The Letterkenny store opened at its new location on the town’s Main Street in 2022 and was opened by Bishop Alan McGuckian SJ, Bishop of Raphoe.
The company said its decision to wind down follows a comprehensive strategic review of the business in response to a “significant and sustained business downturn” in recent years.
In advance of the closure, Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Letterkenny store on 7th December at 3pm. All are welcome to attend and the Mass will also be live-streamed.
A message from this week’s St Eunan’s Cathedral newsletter to store manager Sheila McMacken and team said: “It is with great sadness that we have learned of the official closing date for the Letterkenny branch of Veritas, Main Street, Letterkenny – Friday 13th December.
“We sincerely thank Sheila and all the Staff in the Letterkenny branch for their help, friendship and devotion to promoting our Catholic Faith. May God bless you all as you set out on the next chapter of your lives.”
