Niall McConnell (IND) has been eliminated on the tenth count as Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher edges closer to a return to the Dáil.
The far right candidate’s 2,185 votes will now be distributed as the race begins to heat up.
Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher, gained 118 of the 1,638 votes of the last two eliminated hopefuls, Nuala Carr (GP) and Carol Gallagher (PBPS). This brings the FF veteran on to 10,798, just under 1,800 short of the 12,771 quota which will guarantee him the third seat.
It’s now a three-way race for the final two seats between Charlie McConalogue (FF), Charles Ward (100% Redress) and Thomas Pringle (IND).
As it stands after the tenth count, McConalogue is on 8,470, Ward has 7,868 and Pringle is slightly behind on 6,179.
Niall McConnell’s 2,185 will now be distributed among the remaining seven candidates.
