4.30PM: Four more candidates have been eliminated in the Donegal general election count, leaving 9 of the 20 players remaining.
Eamonn McGee (Irish Freedom Party), Kim McMenamin (The Irish People), Carol Gallagher (People Before Profit) and Nuala Carr have all been eliminated this afternoon.
We are now entering the tenth count and the distribution of Carol Gallagher’s 707 votes and Nuala Carr’s 931 votes.
Sinn Fein’s Pearse Doherty and Padraig Mac Lochlainn were both elected last night as the count rumbled on until 2am.
Vincent Bradley (IND), Arthur McGuinness (IND), Claudia Kennedy (FF) and Frank O’Donnell (IND) were eliminated from earlier counts this Sunday morning.
Pat the Cope Gallagher is inching slowly towards taking the third seat for Donegal.
All eyes are on the fourth and fifth seats, with Minister Charlie McConalogue (FF), Charles Ward of the new 100% Redress Party and Independent Thomas Pringle all in contention.
