Communities across Castlederg, Lifford and Milford mourned great losses today as Samuel Hunter and Ryan Glenn were laid to rest following separate ceremonies.
The two men, tragically taken in the devastating Liscooley road collision last Friday, were remembered fondly by loved ones and friends.
Ryan Glenn (25) is the third young man from Castlederg to die in as many weeks due to road tragedies.
His passing, along with the loss of his friend Gordy Galbraith (38) in the same incident, and the recent loss of Eoín Lynch (29) on 10th November, has left a profound impact on the community of Castlederg.
Ryan, a father-of-one, was mourned in a Family Service of Thanksgiving at Lynch’s Funeral Home in the Castlefin Road led by Rev. Fr. Paul Fraser.
A huge wreath spelling “Dad” rested against Ryan’s coffin as the cortège made its way over the bridge over the Derg River to the cemetery on Drumquin Road.
Also this afternoon, Sam Hunter of Murlog, Lifford, aged in his 70s, was remembered during a Funeral Service in Ballindrait Presbyterian Church before his remains went to his native Milford for burial.
Mr Hunter became the third victim of the tragedy when he died from his injuries in hospital on Tuesday. His wife, Mrs Dolores Hunter, who was also involved in the collision remains seriously ill.
