Two men have been arrested in the Inishowen area after a major drugs raid earlier today.
Two private residences were swooped on by members of the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by Customs, Customs Dog Unit and Gardaí from the Buncrana District.
Gardai have confirmed that suspected cannabis with a value of €40,000 was seized, along with drugs paraphernalia was seized.
The drugs will now undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
It follows an ongoing, intelligence-led operation into the delivery of drugs into the county.
Two men in their 20s were arrested.
At least one of the men has been charged.
He is expected to appear at a sitting of Donegal District Court in Donegal Town tomorrow (Fri).
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to the sale and supply of controlled substances in Co. Donegal or the border region, to contact the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
The roads were part of Operation Tara.
Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy commenced on the 1st of July 2021. The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels, international, national, and local, involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production and local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
