A bus company from Letterkenny has demanded an apology and payment after one of their vehicles was heavily damaged by a group of customers who were on a pub crawl.
McGettigan Travel made the appeal on social media this afternoon, after the group of young men who had rented the bus out broke windows, and also harassed the “terrified” bus driver aboard.
The travel company has threatened to name and shame the culprits if they do not come forward with an apology and payment for repairs, after the young men also allegedly threw cigarette butts at the driver, and attempted to start a fire onboard.
“Last night, on a pub tour, our bus was badly vandalised (window broke, etc) from a group of young boys who rented the bus,” McGettigan Travel posted.
“…these boys also attempted to burn our driver with lit cigarette butts while also throwing these lit butts at our dash trying to set the bus on fire.”
“We are giving these men until the end of the day to pay for all the damage, or we will be naming the exact culprits,” they added.
“We also want an apology issued to our driver, who was absolutely terrified and did not deserve this threatening behaviour and abuse.”
