Fine Gael’s recent boost in support under Simon Harris has seemingly come to a halt.
Today’s Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks polls just five days away from polls opening in the General Election show the race at the top tightening significantly.
Fine Gael’s support has fallen by four percent in a period of three weeks, with leader Simon Harris coming under fire following the first election debate as well as a recent public faux-pas with a disability advocate in Wicklow.
Their lead over coalition partners Fianna Fail is just two points, with Fine Gael commanding 22 percent support, and Fianna Fail remaining on 20 percent.
Sinn Fein saw a bump of two points, seeing them match Fianna Fail also on 20 percent.
