Nearly 800 homes across Donegal remain without power this morning, as repairs are still ongoing in the wake of Storm Bert.
Areas in the north and west of the county and Inishowen are expected to stay without power for a significant portion of today as ESB crews continue to carry out emergency repairs.
According to the ESB’s PowerCheck website, properties in Ballyshannon, Laghey, Kilcar, Ardara, Dungloe, Fintown, Twin Towns/surrounding areas, Gweedore, Gortahork, Churchill, Glen, Falcarragh, Portnablagh, Burnfoot, Clonmany and Glengad are still without electricity.
Repair times vary for each outage, but many of the repairs are estimated to be completed late on Sunday evening currently.
You can view updates for your area on the ESB PowerCheck website – powercheck.esbnetworks.ie.
These repairs will be carried out as Donegal remains under a status yellow weather warning for high winds until early on Monday morning.
Met Éireann has warned of difficult travelling conditions on the roads today, as well as the potential for fallen trees and debris due to the strong gusts of wind expected.
Elsewhere, the people of Killybegs are counting the cost of Storm Bert as flood relief efforts continue today, with at least 16 homes and businesses on Bridge Street affected by the floods.
