Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin 3-7 v 1-12 Craigbane

Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin are the Ulster Junior Football Champions, after defeating Derry Junior Champions Craigbane.

Three goals were enough to just see the Muff men past the finish line, showing lethal instinct in front of goal.

Drew McKinney found the back of the net first just after the quarter-hour mark, a goal that would see Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin hold a slender lead into the half-time break, 1-03 to 0-05.

A scorching start to the second half saw Caolan McColgan find the back of the net for the Muff side within a minute, their advantage would reach 5 points at one stage early in the second half.

Craigbane showed their Championship credentials though, and would peg the advantage back to one point before Kevin Lynch broke free to add Naomh Padraig’s third goal.

The Derry men would mount a challenge in the closing moments, as they scored their only game of the contest with just a few minutes to spare – but time ran out with Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin the winners by a solitary point.
