Students at the got a chance to take a ‘drive’ in the RSA road safety simulator this week.
The Road Safety Authority Ireland (RSA) state-of-the-art Shuttle Bus caused a stir when it paid a visit to the Raphoe school.
The senior students got the chance to practice driving and hazard perception skills on the simulators. Garda Catherine Callaghan dropped in to the event and she was very impressed by the manner in which road safety education was brought to life in such an engaging and a memorable way.
“We hope that these students will always remember the vital lessons they learned and that they will all be safe and responsible drivers when their time comes to get behind the wheel,” Garda Callaghan said.
A spokesperson for the Royal and Prior thanked the RSA for their Shuttle Bus, ‘bringing road safety education to life in an engaging, interactive and memorable way’.
“Our Senior Students got to practice driving and hazard perception skills on the simulators,” a school spokesperson said.
“Let’s hope they remember these vital lessons as they embark upon their own driver journey.”
