Finn Harps are on their way to selling first 1,000 shares!

Finn Harps Football Club has confirmed it has also sold 1,000 of its new share options which were launched ten days ago.

For as little as €25 per year (including a share purchase), anyone can now become a member and part-owner of the club, joining a community-driven, fan owned movement that ‘stands against the tide’ of private ownership in modern football.

The immediate goal for Finn Harps is to reach 3,000 members this year to become Ireland’s largest fan owned football club.

“There has been a brilliant response so far, we are steadily heading towards the 1000 member mark- but we won’t be stopping there,” a club spokesperson told Donegal Daily.

“We are asking everyone to help us keep the momentum going by spreading the word and encouraging as many people as possible to take ownership of the club.”

They have seen interest not just locally and from the Donegal diaspora, but also from people who believe in fan-owned football and see something in the Finn Harps story that they want to be a part of.

The video below from a gentleman in the US, the spokesperson added, is a case in point:

“In the next few weeks, we have various announcements coming around sponsorship, season tickets, players etc, so it’s an exciting time,” the spokesperson concluded.
