Donegal is expected to escape the worst of Storm Bert, but Saturday morning will be another frosty start in the north west.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for Donegal from midnight tonight until 12noon on Saturday, anticipating a wintry mix of snow, ice, rain, and strong winds.
Road users are being advised to prepare for more difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, fallen trees and localised flooding.
A Status Red rain warning has been issued for counties Galway and Cork, from midnight until 10am tomorrow due to the arrival of Storm Bert.
The storm, displacing the recent cold Arctic airmass, will bring very strong winds and heavy rain tracking northeastwards over the country on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Met Éireann has warned of intense rainfall which could result in severe flooding, damage to homes and businesses, as well as dangerous travelling conditions.
Forecasters say Storm Bert will continue to dominate our weather through the weekend.
