Local farmer and dedicated volunteer, Manus O’Donnell, has been announced as the National Volunteer of the Year by the Community Games.
The Milford man has been involved with Community Games since 2008 when his children began participating.
“I’m over the moon, I never expected to get this award,” he said while thanking all the Donegal Community Games committee for their help over the years.
O’Donnell took on the role of County Chairman for Donegal Community Games in 2013, a position he continues to hold with passion and commitment.
Cathal Hagan, a fellow committee member, praised O’Donnell’s dedication and tireless efforts, highlighting his unwavering support for all members of the community.
“No better man than Manus,” Hagan said. “When you see Manus still giving so much of his time to Community Games after all these years, we’re very lucky to have him on board and we’re very proud of him.”
The awards presentation evening will take place in Mullingar at the end of the month.
