Gardaí have issued an appeal after a car was struck by a falling item from a lorry in Stranorlar.

Last Wednesday the 13th of November at around 12.40pm, a motorist was travelling at Meetinghouse Street, Stranorlar in the direction of Letterkenny when an object, believed to be a tyre, fell from a lorry travelling in the opposite direction.

The incident resulted in damage to the car’s roof while the driver escaped injury.

The lorry continued on its journey towards Mc Clay’s corner.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with the driver of the lorry, who may not have been aware of what happened at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny at 074-9167100.
