A Donegal County Councillor is seeking a meeting with Glenveagh National Park after another accident involving deer.
Cllr McClafferty was speaking after reports that a driver had a lucky escape during a collision with a deer in Creeslough Gap on the N56 over the weekend.
The driver was not injured, but their car was destroyed.
Cllr McClafferty has for years called for a Deer Culling Policy in Donegal, saying that the county is overrun with deer which are putting themselves and motorists in danger on the roads.
He said: “This is both unacceptable and dangerous to the public that deer are clearly running riot on our local and national roads.
“I’m seeking a meeting with Glenveagh ASAP in relation to this latest smash that this driver finds themselves out of pocket. And once again, I’m calling for immediate action to be taken before it’s too late.”
