The teams came level at 36 minutes when goalkeeper Cormac Hanlon kicked a long ball up the field and it was brought down by Conor Greene who played a through ball to Shaun Mc Gee who finished nice to the back of the net. With the wind at their backs, the Maghery men in the second half tried to use that to their advantage but the lads just couldn’t hit the target. Referee: Dessie McLaughlin
Swilly Rovers Reserves 0 v 4 St. Catherines Reserves
The visitors went one up after a corner was delivered in and met by Josh Cunningham who headed home. They made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after Cunningham fired the ball into the bottom right of the net. Swilly started to play some good football at periods throughout the 2nd half but couldn’t add the finish. It was 3-0 when C. Love cut in from the left and finished from a tight angle. Cunningham rounded off the scoring with his 3rd of the game to make it 4-0 to the visitors.
Old Orchard Saturday Division Two
Cappry Rovers Reserves 3 v 1 Dunlewey Celtic
Cappry dominated the early exchanges creating several opportunities, Aaron Kelly coming closest when his effort hit the bar. Jack Marley opened the scoring at the midway point tapping home a clever pass from Darren O’ Leary. Dunlewey had opportunities before the break and forced a few saves from Cappry keeper Dylan Doherty. The second half was much more even with Dunlewey threatening from set pieces. Cappry doubled their lead through Darren O’ Leary who fired home Aaron Kelly’s cross to make it 2-0. Dunlewey to their credit battled to the end and set the game up for a grandstand finish when Sean O’ Donnell headed home from a corner. Cappry got their third in injury time catching Dunlewey on the break as Shaun Ryan slotted to secure the victory for the home team.
Drumoghill F.C. Reserves P v P Castlefin Celtic Reserves
Fintown Harps AFC 2 v 2 Gweedore Celtic Reserves
Fintown started on the front foot and scored with only 3 minutes on the clock with Dermot Gallier finding the net from a corner taken by Joe Shanky. Gweedore Celtic settled into the game and had a lot of position but didn’t trouble Leon in the Harps’ goals too much Both teams had chances with Aaron Thompson coming close on a few occasions. A strong breeze played its part throughout the match. The half-time score saw Fintown a goal to the good. The 2nd half started brightly for Celtic and they equalised on 46 minutes with Mc Gee finding the range. Fintown upped the tempo and on 53 minutes went 2-1 up with Aaron Thompson rolling back the years and putting Fintown back in front from close range. The Harps were well on top for the rest of the half but Celtic never gave up and deep into injury time they equalised when young Bonner latched onto a through ball and hit a great shot to earn a point for his side. Leon made a brilliant save soon after that to earn Fintown a share of the spoils. A very good battle by both sides. Referee: Liam Mc Laughlin.
Glenea United Reserves 2 v 4 Kilmacrennan Celtic Reserves
In fine conditions for football, the home side, with the aid of the breeze started brightly but it was the away side that took the lead on 13 minutes when Stephen Mc Daid’s free-kick was headed home by Thomas Dockery. Glenea continued to press and went close through efforts from Sean Geaney and Christopher Barret. The home side were rewarded on 25 minutes when Tarlach Coll’s through ball found Ronan Mc Gee, who saw his initial effort hit the post, but he was on hand to score from the rebound. Glenea kept pressing and took the lead on 35 minutes when Patrick Doohan’s corner went all the way to the net. In the 2nd half it was the away side that started brightly but were finding it difficult to create any clear-cut chances from open play but were looking dangerous from corner kicks. Kilmacrennan came close to an equaliser on a couple of occasions but were denied by a combination of good goalkeeping and a clearance off the line. The home side looked to hit on the break and on 86 minutes Michael Mc Hugh broke clear but saw his effort well saved by the away keeper. On 89 minutes, the home side failed to deal with a free-kick into the box and Ciaran Conaghan was on hand to slip the loose ball home. Kilmacrennan took the lead on 90 minutes when again Glenea failed to deal with a long ball into the box and Ryan Mc Fadden lobbed the ball into the net. Kilmacrennan completed the scoring deep into injury time when Ciaran Conaghan fired home his 2nd goal. Best Glenea were Patrick Doohan and Ronan Mc Gee while Thomas Dockery and Shane Mc Devitt were best for Kilmacrennan.
Letterkenny Rovers Reserves 5 v 1 Erne Wanderers
Letterkenny Rovers clinched a good 5-1 victory over Erne Wanderers in a game that saw plenty of good chances go amiss for both sides. The match started with both sides testing each other’s defences. In the 12th minute, Jordan Nugent had an early chance to open the scoring for Rovers, going one-on-one with Erne keeper Karl O’Brien, but O’Brien managed to collect the ball. Three minutes later, Erne nearly capitalised on a defensive mistake when Adam Mc Glone found himself one-on-one with Josh Wade, only to see his chip go high over the bar. The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when Letterkenny were awarded a penalty for handball, allowing Jason Doherty to calmly convert from the spot and put Rovers 1-0 up. Five minutes later, a well-delivered ball from Henry Welles found Adam Murphy at the edge of the box, but he couldn’t get his shot off before O’Brien gathered. In the 38th minute, Rovers doubled their lead with a swift counter down the right; Adam Murphy played in Conor O’Donnell, who struck confidently across goal to make it 2-0. As the first half neared its end, Erne faced a setback when they were reduced to ten men after a last-man foul on Doherty. Despite the disadvantage, Erne continued to battle, and their persistence paid off in the second half. In the 64th minute, Erne’s Nathan Boyle rattled the left upright with a shot across goal, signalling their intent. Just minutes later, Philip Patton played a precise pass across the box to Mc Glone, who placed a well-taken shot into the bottom left corner, bringing the score to 2-1 in the 69th minute. However, Rovers responded almost immediately. In the 70th minute, Doherty turned brilliantly at the edge of the box and fired a powerful shot that, despite O’Brien’s effort, found the back of the net to restore a two-goal lead at 3-1. Erne went down to 9 men and Rovers capitalised on their momentum in the 80th minute when Adam Murphy’s run and pass set up Noah Mailey who shot from the right, making it 4-1. In the final moments, Murphy added a fifth for Rovers after a well-worked play down the right wing. His powerful shot came off the upright and crossed the line, sealing a dominant 5-1 win for Letterkenny Rovers.
Finn Travel Saturday Division Three
Fanad United Reserves 4 v 0 Lagan Harps Reserves
Fanad United maintained their 100% start to the Saturday League Division Three with a 4-0 victory over Lagan Harps Reserves at Traigh-a-Loch on Saturday. Fanad started on the front foot and had their first chance after 5 minutes. Following a pull back from a corner, Daibhid Lynch saw his shot crash back off the angle of crossbar and post. 2 minutes later however Fanad took the lead. Oisin Mc Hugh advanced from right back and his shot from the edge of the box was parried by the Lagan keeper and Charlie Mc Ateer was on hand to score from close range. Lagan were well in the game and on 15 minutes Jack Duncan did well to force his way into the box but his shot produced a good save from Aodh Mc Bride. On the half hour mark Fanad extended their lead. Darragh O’ Doherty crossed from the left and Charlie Mc Ateer controlled the ball before firing home. 2 minutes later Lagan missed a good chance to get a goal back when Drew Dowds shot wide from close range. 5 minutes before the break Alan Mc Ateer rose highest from a free kick but his header produced an outstanding save from Lagan keeper Kai Brown. Ten minutes into the second half Fanad made it 3-0. After some great work down the left from Conor Blaney and Darragh O’ Doherty, Blaney’s cross fell to Johnny Mc Ateer at the back post who scored at the second attempt. On the hour mark Fanad scored their fourth and final goal. Adam Carr won possession in midfield and his superb pass sent Dylan Mc Bride clear and he scored with a lovely dinked finish. Lagan kept going and with 5 minutes remaining, Jack Mc Connell saw his well struck free kick held by Aodh Mc Bride. Referee: Matthew Hull
Ballybofey United Reserves 1 v 0 Cranford United Reserves
Ballybofey continued their winning ways with hard fought victory in Dreenan. Both sides were evenly matched in the early stages of the game, both playing nice football and looking dangerous. The home side had the first real chance when Kieran Thompson’s shot was well save by the Cranford keeper. It was Ballybofey that continued piling on the pressure and had further efforts from James Sweeney who headed straight at the keeper. Kieran Thompson’s chipped effort went just wide and Ruairi Campbell’s header went just over the bar. Cranford came into the game late in the half and had 2 good efforts. The first coming from good work down the right wing and a cross to the back post that went just over the bar. The second chance again down the right wing and the Cranford winger cut in on his left foot to fire in a shot but Joe O’ Donnell got down well to make the save. Ballybofey came out firing in the second half and almost took an early lead when James Sweeney crossed a great ball to the back post and Colin Kearn’s header went just wide. The home side continued to create chances, with Kieran Thompson getting on the end of Kearn’s great through ball, but Thompson fired over the bar. Ballybofey finally got themselves on the score sheet, when Darren Kelly’s left footed free kick bounced out to James Sweeney who fired it into the corner of the net. Their lead was almost doubled late on when Odhran Byrne found himself in unfamiliar territory and riffled a right footed shot from 30 yards out but the keeper did well to save. Cranford to their credit never gave up and battled to the end and almost had an effort on goal but for Cian Thompson’s last ditch tackle.
Drumkeen United Reserves 1 v 6 Copany Rovers
It was a bad day at the Office for Drumkeen in the Finn Travel Division on Saturday as they came unstuck against visitors Company Rovers. Things started badly for the hosts as they found themselves behind through an Ethan Gallagher goal after 6 minutes. Drumkeen did relatively well for a while and Eoghan Kennedy got them back on level terms before the half hour mark. Things then went downhill very quickly for Drumkeen and they found themselves three goals behind at the break. It all began shortly after the Drumkeen equaliser when Copany were awarded a penalty which was well dispatched by David Graham. The visitors got another through Graham Harron a few minutes later and David Graham added his second and Copany’s fourth before half time. That fifteen-minute spell really knocked the stuffing out of Drumkeen and they never recovered from it. Drumkeen tried hard in the second half but nothing was working for them and realistically they were not going to get back into this game. Ethan Gallagher got his second of the game on 75 minutes and the always dangerous David Graham completed his hat-trick late on to seal a miserable day for the hosts. On this evidence Copany Rovers are a very good side and will certainly be in contention for honours if they can continue this good run. This game was played in the right spirit. Referee: Barry Tourish.
Gweedore United Reserves 1 v 5 Milford United Reserves
Milford United claimed all three points at Carrickboyle on a mild and sunny day for November. The away side seized the initiative on the 3rd minute when they were awarded a corner and Ciaron Gibbon’s delivery picked out the unmarked Conor Meakin who finished from close range. Milford United doubled their lead in the 20th minute, despite the best efforts from the Gweedore United’s Shaun Doherty, he was unable to prevent Mark Wilson’s shot from six yards out nestling into the net. Milford went in search of further goals and efforts from Adam Horsford, Conor Meakin and Mark Wilson were thwarted by the Gweedore keeper Brian Mc Fadden. The home side tried to get back into the game but were largely restricted to shots from outside the box from Maitiú de Gallaí and Francis Gallagher. The visitors almost added to their lead just on the stroke of half time, Caolan Mc Bride’s shot from outside the box smacked off the post. Daithí Mc Taggart’s fantastic strike from outside the box made it 0-3 to the visitors on 51 minutes. Adam Horsford almost added to the away side’s tally from a mazy run however Brian Mc Fadden produced another fine save in the 53rd minute. There was no way back for Gweedore United when Mark Wilson found the net again in the 55th minute, he finished from a tight angle. Milford continued to look for further goals and this duly came on the 67th minute as Adam Campbell found himself free to finish from a few yards out. The midfield trio of Adam Campbell, Caolan Mc Bride and Daithí McTaggart were very instrumental in Milford taking all three points today. The home side began gathering some momentum and went in search of a consolation goal and were unlucky on the 72ndminute. An excellent corner from the Cian Ó Heifearnáin picked out Owen Gallagher and his headed effort came crashing off the crossbar. In the 86th Minute, Gavin Ferry eventually found the net when his speculative shot from outside of his foot ended up in the top corner giving Milford’s Declan Jordan little or no chance. Fanad United 1 v 0 Keadue Rovers
Fanad United made it three wins from three in the League following a narrow 1-0 victory over Keadue Rovers at Traigh-a-Loch on Sunday. Played in decent conditions, Fanad almost made a dream start and nearly took the lead in the first minute. A ball forward was knocked down by Peter Carr to Eddie O’Reilly who’s chip from the edge of the box came back off the crossbar. In the 7th minute Calum Bogle went on a good run down the right and his cross was met by Oisin Mc Kelvey who’s header forced Fanad keeper Mark Mc Conigley into a fine save. Keadue were then dealt a blow in the 13th minute when full back Pauric Neely received a straight red card for a late tackle on Paddy Mc Ginley. Despite being reduced to 10 men, Keadue were still a threat and created several half chances. Fanad did have a chance to score a second on 25 minutes when Eddie O’Reilly knocked the ball back to Paddy Mc Ginley but he was unable to keep his shot down from 20 yards. The second half overall was a tight affair devoid of many goal scoring chances. It took until the 80th minute for Fanad to make the breakthrough. Daibhid Lynch sent in a superb cross from the right which was headed back by Oisin Mc Menamin and Eddie O’Reilly knocked the ball home from close range. Keadue continued to probe for the remaining minutes, forcing several set pieces. However, the Fanad defence well marshalled by Seamie Friel and Patrick Moffitt held out for the narrow win. Referee: Mick Lagan
Kilmacrennan Celtic P v P Bonagee United

Rathmullan Celtic 0 v 2 Swilly Rovers
Swilly Rovers left the sun-drenched Flagpole Field with all three points on Sunday afternoon despite the Lennonside outfit finishing the game with nine men. Shea Coyle was unfortunate to turn the ball past his own ‘keeper in the first half as Swilly edged ahead. Rathmullan had the territorial advantage in the second half but didn’t work Barry Gallagher in goal enough. Laurence Toland talked himself into a red card just after the hour and in stoppage time David Craig followed for a second booking. Rathmullan came close to levelling when a cross from Jay Curran was turned goalwards but Gallagher in the Swilly goal was agile to turn it over the cross bar. With Rathmullan’s netminder Killian Hagan up for corner in stoppage time, Swilly cleared and Thomas Mullen was able to stroke the ball into an unguarded net to seal the derby spoils. Referee: Alistair Gourley
St. Catherines 1 v 3 Letterkenny Rovers
The second clash within a week for these formidable opponents didn’t disappoint as an enthusiastic crowd at Emerald Park wanted revenge for the cup defeat just 7 days previous. Rovers were always going to pose a threat from set pieces and this proved pivotal on 11 minutes when the saints centre halves failed to clear from a corner and the experienced Mc Gonagle swung a left boot from the edge of the 6-yard box that ran tamely into the home sides net and a one goal lead. This seemed to waken up St Catherines who had a period of 15 minutes after conceding the goal of excellent football that paid off when a low shot from Paul O’ Hare that was too hot to handle for Mc Ginley in the Rovers’ goal as he spilled his save at the feet of Conor Doherty who tucked home nicely to get the teams back on level terms. Once again on 42 minutes the saints looked vulnerable from set pieces and always looked panicked when trying to clear as the ball bounced back off a saints defender after an attempted clearance, Banda had an easy tap in to restore the rovers lead. The second half started at 2-1 to the visitors but a second yellow saw Rovers full back receive a second yellow. This should have given the home team encouragement as it was now 10 against 9 with numerical advantage with St Catherines. This was not the case though as the excellent Joel Bradley Walsh drove into the home box on 60 minutes and swung his left peg at the ball which in turn slid under the replacement saints keeper and a devastating blow for any ambitions of a comeback as the score line now read 1-3 in favour of the visitors. It was a case of valiant attempts and near misses for the last third of the game but the Saints lacked at bit of composure up front while the well-travelled Rovers team took every opportunity to slow and kill the game off. Referee: Vincent Mc Laughlin
Gweedore Celtic 0 v 5 Kildrum Tigers
Kildrum recorded a comfortable victory away to Gweedore. They hit the front after only three minutes when Frank Mc Brearty volleyed home from twenty yards. Dominating in midfield they struck two more goals before halftime through Gillen and Breslin to ease them into a comfortable lead. Two second half goals by Gillen and Temple ensured that the points were secure for The Tigers. Referee: L. Mc Laughlin
Temple Domestic Appliances Division One
Castlefin Celtic 3 v 1 Gweedore United
Castlefin secured a vital three points against Gweedore United in an end to end encounter. Castlefin took the lead when Paul Farnell tapped home. Castlefin created numerous chances but failed to convert. An Ethan Harkin header got Gweedore level. In the second half Castlefin pushed hard in the second half and another Farrell tap in and a Gavin Sweeney header secured the points for the hosts.
Glenea United 3 v 2 Ballybofey United
Ballybofey United were the visitors to Pairc Joe in perfect conditions for football.
The home side had the first chance of the game when a Luke Mc Carry ball made it to Darren Mc Geever at the back post however his lob narrowly missed the target.
Glenea took the lead in the 20th minute after a well picked forward pass from Conor Coyle found Darren Mc Geever who pulled it back to Ciaran Coll for a calm first touch finish. After the goal Glenea settled into the game and had two chances in as many minutes, the first was a left footed effort from Luke Mc Carry that came back off the bar and from that defensive clearance Darren Mc Geever played a quick cross back in and Ciaran Coll’s header went narrowly over the bar. The visitors first chance of the game came from a well struck free kick that looked to be creeping under the bar but Shaun Mc Clafferty got a strong hand to it to tip it over. Glenea were awarded a penalty just before half time when Calvin Murray was fouled in the box. Calvin stepped up to take it and calmly sent the keeper the wrong way. Just as it looked like that would be the last talking point of the first half, Calvin Murray went on another weaving run and was again taken down, this time just outside the box.
Shane Coll kept his free-kick low and finished well in the bottom corner. Ballybofey were awarded a penalty in the first minute of the second half and converted it to bring the game to life once again. Ballybofey got a second with 15 minutes to go and shortly after were awarded their second penalty which was well saved by Shaun Mc Clafferty. Ballybofey pushed hard for an equaliser but Glenea held on for all three points. Best for Glenea: Calvin Murray and Conor Coyle. Referee: Matthew Hull
Lagan Harps 4 v 1 Donegal Town
On a great day for football in front of a healthy crowd the home side took the points but it was a lot more difficult than the scoreline suggests. Donegal Town started much the brighter and took the game to Lagan in the early exchanges. Ben Sweeney proving hard to handle on a couple of occasions, his driving run to the byline was well cleared by Conor Bonner and Mark Margey in goals tipped his shot from distance over the bar. Lagan took the lead somewhat against the run of play on twenty-five minutes when a clearance from Ciaran Quinn deceived the Donegal Town defence and Dylan Doogan nipped in too finish well. Doogan got his second of the day ten minutes later after good approach play and Conor Crossan played it into the feet of Doogan who held it up well and turned and finished well to the bottom corner. Donegal Town responded well and got their reward on the stroke of half time when Ronan Mc Hugh received the ball thirty yards from goal and he passed three Lagan defenders to fire into the bottom corner. The second half was only two minutes old when Lagan restored their two-goal lead after good work by Philip Doran released Codey Brogan down the right and he crossed to Matthew Doran who finished well. For much of the second half Donegal Town tried to get themselves back into the game but the Lagan defence well marshalled by Ciaran Quinn and Rory Mc Crossan dealt with anything thrown at them. One save of note from Mark Margey as he dived at the feet of Donegal full back Monaghan after the ball had come off the crossbar and fell into his path. Donegal Town were reduced to ten men late on and Lagan made the game comfortable late on when Conor Crossan added their fourth goal after good work by Niall Mc Crossan and Josh Hay down the left put in on a plate for him to give Faulkner no chance in goals.
Lifford Celtic 0 v 2 Cappry Rovers
In the opening minutes, Lifford Celtic signalled their intent with an early attack, though their shot flew wide. Cappry Rovers responded shortly after with an attempt that also went over the bar. Both teams then settled, exchanging possession, and looking for openings.
Midway through the first half, Cappry began to press Lifford’s back line. Despite Cappry’s pressure, Lifford defended well, building their attacks patiently from the back. Both sides continued to create chances, but strong defensive play prevented any goals until Cappry managed to unlock Lifford’s defence. A well-timed ball in behind found Jack Burke who finished clinically past Lifford’s keeper, Torraigh Mc Connell, to put Cappry 1-0 up.
Lifford almost found an equaliser when Michael Mc Curdy forced an error from a Cappry centre-back, though his shot went narrowly over the bar. Lifford’s Shay Lindsey also tested Cappry’s keeper but couldn’t convert, leaving Cappry 1-0 ahead at the break. In the second half, Cappry continued their momentum, eventually winning a free kick on the edge of the box midway through. Although the set-piece hit the wall and was cleared, Cappry kept up the pressure. Their persistence paid off when Sweeney broke through on goal, slotting the ball neatly into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. Lifford pressed to get back into the game, with further chances falling to Lindsey, Ronnie, and Mc Curdy, but Cappry’s keeper stood firm, keeping a clean sheet. The game concluded with Cappry Rovers taking a 2-0 victory.

Letterbarrow started brightly with Jack Bennett and Alex Mc Nelis proving a handful for the Drumkeen defence. Despite several chances it stayed 0-0 until half-time. The deadlock was broken when Jack Bennett started a mazy run and unleashed a stunning strike from 30 yards. Letterbarrow were being driven on by Declan Gallagher and Des Mc Groarty and started to up the pressure. Conor Mc Daid made it 2-0 after some great work by Alex Mc Nelis and Conor was unlucky not to add more but for some good goalkeeping and the woodwork. Drumkeen to their credit stayed in the game and made it 2-1 with a counter attack towards the end.
Whitestrand United 6 v 3 Curragh Athletic

Curragh to their credit kept their head high and got their reward when they got a great goal on the turn from their striker.
